PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs and/or manages transmission, substation, distribution, and gas projects consisting of cross-functional teams involving multiple engineering disciplines with a specialized focus on IT solutions and their integration. Responsible for managing the identification, planning, design, build and maintenance of high quality information solutions, products, and processes to advance business need and efficiency. Serves as the interface for full IT solution integration to deliver the target business objective, and implements information technology solutions directly within the distribution engineering design framework. Creates and assigns detailed tasks to peers. May have budget responsibility for project, sub-project or process component. Expected to work under minimal supervision.
Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
JOB SCOPE
The Senior Engineering Solutions Specialist is an individual contributor accountable for Distribution Automation engineering solution projects with high degrees of information technology requirement and integration. This position acts as the bridge championing the core business need and objective leading the design and implementation of information technology solutions centrally or implementing them directly within the core engineering design. Tasks include but are not limited to, ensuring the completion of business cases, budgetary approvals, project scheduling, design and engineering tasks, project reporting, project financial analysis, major solution design, implementation, and maintenance.
